After discussions with the support people, it appears that it is possible in the Windows and Mac version only but not in the Linux version. All the settings that were set properly in CUPS were simply ignored by Foxit. I wanted to change the default options for my printer (one-sided vs two-sided) but I couldn't find where to do that.
